An old toy produced 16 years ago... Surprise to see the size is almost the same as the DX counterpart, only thinner in width. This is a Yutaka Company simplified version of the SB-555C Faiz Shot which has simplified functions and sounds. Gotten it to complete the DX Faiz Gear Box. Now only left to get or make the Faiz Axel watch...

Modification Two Sides Removable CSM Belt Straps for Doubledriver CSM 1.5 Type Kamen Rider W Double

 Modified the 3rd party CSM belt straps for Decadriver to become the Doubledriver CSM 1.5 type where both straps are able to be removed instead of just 1 side. Simple concept of drilling a hole at the outer casing, attach a screw to the pin, but the adjustments and such are manual and painful. Finally use hot glue to thicken up the knob for thumb and fingers to slide the screw head.

Bootleg KO Ohma ZiO Ridewatch Sound Addition

 Added the Ohma Zi-O Driver's transformation sound to this bootleg KO Ohma Zi-O ridewatch. Did not use the actual ridewatch's sounds as I felt that is not the true Ohma Zi-O form.

DX Tategami Hyoujuu Senki Wonder Ride Book タテガミ氷獣戦記ワンダーライドブック Kamen Rider Blades ( Saber Series )

 Too heavy and the hardest Wonder Ride Book to open via the Swordriver's pin gimmick. My bootleg is not able to activate it properly most of the time if I am holding it to face me ( i.e. draw the sword with left hand ) but will work quite fine when I draw the sword out with right hand. Should be some tolerance issue that I cannot figure out the solution with the ad-hoc mechanism and material... If this is a toy for children, I think it should be designed to be lighter, as this is too heavy for kids... But quite a fun WRB...

DX Ankokuken Kurayami & Jaken Caliburdriver Kamen Rider Calibur Jaou Dragon Perfect Set Saber Series

 Bought this set around the 11-11 period, and was  bit cheaper than usual. Am tempted to make a bigger size sword to put in the original sword's electronics as this set does not require the sword to be inserted into a small swordriver. Will see how next time. Also featuring the CSM belt straps from Rider Creator. I bought 2 belt straps from this company Rider Creator but found the quality to be lower than what I bought from previously. Each set of belt consist of 1 glossy and 1 matt belt finishing.

Restoring Bootleg DX Seiken Swordriver / Dragonic Knight & King Lion Daisenki Set / DX Saber Books

 Restored the "draw sword" feature of the bootleg DX Seiken Swordriver (from Kamen Rider Saber series) recently bought. More pictures and details can be found in my blog which will be posted later. Took many days to figure out and a few more days to replicate on another 2 bootlegs. Also showed the DX Saiyuu Journey and DX Storm Eagle Wonder Ride Books, as well as the DX Dragonic Knight & King Lion Daisenki Wonder Rider Books Set.

 

For the restoration to have the normal "Draw sword" feature, I refer to Bilibili videos to check for the mechanisms. Not much details but will do. The below are the main pieces needed. I use a combination of 1.5mm (?) and 0.2mm (?) ABS sheets, slowly adjusting the parts to the appropriate thicknesses. Will not be answering any questions on the size, as I also have no idea how big they are. I estimate, cut , test and trim them.

 

The below 2 parts form the main mechanism system to push up the pins when sword is drawn out...

Fitting onto the driver...

 

A small spring is added to let the lever flip back to vertical position after sword is inserted in...

Finally cover the mechanism to prevent the spring and lever from coming out...

For the bootleg Wonder Ride Books, the middle button has a very strong spring, is best to replace with a weaker and shorter one, so as to prevent the book from being pushed back up after inserting it intot he driver.

Bootleg DX Double Driver ( Version 7 ) ( Kamen Rider Double W ) Knockoff KO - Eternal Skull Memories

This is the latest bootleg version 7 of the Kamen Rider Double / W 's DX Double Driver. I bought this because of the more toy-accurate Eternal and Skull Gaia Memories, though is fake-interactions with the Driver and Maximum Slot, as my DX versions seemed to have gone cranky in the switches after many years. These 2 bootleg memories will act as my spare standby copies, in case the DX ones really become damage beyond repair (touch wood). As with the Memories in version 6, these Memories are almost like the enhanced shokugan (candy toy) versions of Gaia Memories. 

 The main body is still the same as the previous versions', summarize as follow:
(1) Plastic used for the Driver is a bit softer.
(2) Plastic used for the strap is super soft/flexible. Good for long term use, but they don't join together that well
(3) Gold tips on both driver units and Silver tips on both Gaia Memories
(5) Unpainted light box at bottom of Driver seem to make the different colour lights appear opposite.
(6) Same as previous versions, this bootleg also excludes the pins to activate the DX Memories' henshin sound and Maximum Drive sounds, but can be restored easily.

A very nice bootleg. Will restore the main driver's DX reading function and modified it into the Lost Driver before giving the main driver to my nephew, together with the gashapon Double T2 Memory.

 

Bootleg DX Seiken Swordriver DX Hissatsuholder Jackun-to-Domamenoki Wonder Ride Book CSM Belt Strap

  Rekka Battou 烈火拔刀 to Rekka "Sasitou" 烈火"挿刀"...  It is a new bootleg from Taobao... I think it is meant for cosplayers, and "bear kids (熊孩子)" - a term that Chinese use for young kids who play with toys in a very rough manner and often damage the toy... Wanted to restore the operation to pull blade, as I thought the inner structure for the original mechanism will be retained, but the manufacturer modified the mechanism as well as the space around it. Will be a bit more tougher... Since this is a bootleg, it is normal for he sword to not have any sensing gimmicks and such.

 

Faiz Gear Box ( Suitcase with Customizable Foam ) Kamen Rider Faiz 555

 Bought the largest one from the Taobao seller, and it can barely fit in all my DX Faiz Gear including the attachments. Will probably get a few more for my other belts as the third party CSM beltstraps cannot be used with the drivers to hang on the wall like the old thinner belts... 

Seiken Swordriver Set 80cm Seiken 聖剣 Kamen Rider Saber series 仮面ライダーセイバー 聖刃

 Very large seiken!!!! This is the "predecessor" of the upcoming Japan release of the Seiken which they state as approximately 81cm (this version is stated as approximately 80cm). I measured this to be almost 81cm. The Japanese version will have paint for the blade (not sure if handle will have too), contains BGM and dialogues I think, but at a much higher price, about 2.5 to 3 times more.

The comparison with the Power Rangers Legacy Saba Sword and modified Gokai Saber..

Am waiting for the bootleg DX Seiken Swordrivers to arrive...

Henshin Belt ver.20th DX Den-O Belt and Climax Cellphone K-Taros / Keitaros

 Because I have the K-Taros / Keitaros Phone, so I bought the DX Den-O Belt. For nostalgic purpose. Those were the days when Kamen Rider toys are still selling in Singapore's major departmental stores and such, and the frequent sales that had the items at a incredible low price. That was when I bought this K-Taros / Keitaros Phone at SGD5 only.

 

DX Zikan Girade and DX Saikyo Girade Kamen Rider Zi-O Zi O Zio Series

 The full names are DX Character Conversion Gun-Sword Zikan Girade (字換銃剣 ジカンギレード) and DX Time Crown King Sword Saikyo Girade (時冠王剣 サイキョーギレード).  Very mouthful.
I bought the DX Saikyo Girade for my nephew earlier, and also gotten 1 for myself thinking that I can soft of combine the features with my KO one. But realised that it will be too hard and damaging to both pieces. Also, the KO Zikan Girade is remolded, so it will not fit onto the DX Saikyo Girade.  So I bought the DX Zikan Girade. Luckily it is not so expensive now. Will likely put a switch to the big face.

 

Complete Deluxe Modification CDM - Faiz Gear and Faiz Axel ( Kamen Rider Faiz Series DX )

I think all are the Korean version... Gotten this a long time ago, and recently decided to change the belt-strap using a (couple of) 3rd Party CSM Zero-One Driver belt-strap. Yes, have to cut and join extra length of another belt-strap as my waist too fat. Luckily superglue can be used, and most gaps filled up with bits from cutting the belt-strap. 

With that in mind, I also decided to put some paint onto the remaining DX Faiz Gear that I have to make them look more closer to show or the CSM version. Not easy, considering the rubbery plastics cannot be painted, and the black acrylic paint also peels super easily off the plastic surfaces. But finally done, not perfect, but close enough for me.

Have since ordered a big suitcase to put in the huge Faiz Driver...

*** EDIT: I had forgotten to take pictures of the DX Faiz Axel's touch up with silver paint for the "screws" on the watch, which the CSM version has.

Thought of a lot of ways to attach the beltstrap, including removable methods... in the end have to settle for the usual fixed type... Used cable-ties to secure the belt-strap to the original belt-strap parts, after drilling 2 small holes on each of the part...

Next, I painted the detailing lines and areas black with acrylic paint and a super small nail brush... Tough...  

Also sprayed the phone collector part to silver at the exterior sides, similar to the CSM version...

Assembling the pieces together... Looks good...

Continue to paint the DX Faiz Phone's Mission Memory, and also painted the antenna to silver except for a hole on the face of tip... 

Looks good....

Proceeded to touch up for the DX Faiz Pointer... The front chromed part is a replacement from a recently bought one, as the old one was terribly defaced after spraying it with chrome silver paint...

For the side buckles, I made a U shape piece to "clip" onto each side buckle. The velcro straps are taken from the spare 3rd Party CSM Belt-straps ... 

Red paper covered with strips of transparent sticky tape is attached to the "pipes" area using double-sided tape. Did not last long, am going to try to use the Daiso plastic (contact) glue tomorrow to try to stick them securely... Hope it works... 

End results look not bad!!! The CSM Faiz Gear is way too expensive, so this set will make a good stand-in...

Next modification will likely be doing either the form-light-colour modification for the Arcle Belt, or start on the Typhoon Belt Project...

Bootleg DX Double Driver ( Version 6 ) ( Kamen Rider Double W ) Knockoff KO

 Cost RMB 88, excluding local and international shipping... This is the latest bootleg version 6 of the Kamen Rider Double / W 's DX Double Driver. Summary of this bootleg as follow:
(1) Plastic used for the Driver is a bit softer.
(2) Plastic used for the strap is super soft/flexible. Good for long term use, but they don't join together that well
(3) Gold tips on both driver units and Silver tips on both Gaia Memories
(4) Finally has correct and more toy-accurate Cyclone and Joker Memories in terms of appearance and sounds (though is fake-interactions with the Driver and Maximum Slot). Memories are almost like the enhanced shokugan (candy toy) versions of Gaia Memories.

A very nice bootleg. And I probably will replace the belt strap with the 3rd party CSM Decadriver Beltstrap. Or maybe not.

COMPLETEly-not SELECTION MODIFICATION Henshi Belt ARCLE ( Kamen Rider Kuuga ) - Phase 1

 Just for fun....

Opps, forget to remove the white velcro pieces at the back of the main piece... Because my fat tummy cannot wear the Legend Henshin Arcle Belt, I decided to get a 3rd-party CSM beltstrap to attach to this Arcle Belt, and tried a LOT of different ways of attaching before finalizing on this method... Phase 1 of this modification also includes painting up the front and sides to look more show accurate. However, things went very wrong while spraying lacquer, as my bottle of lacquer spray had become too concentrated and damaged the sprayed-silver side buckles; stupidly painted PVA glue over the resprayed side-buckles to realised that it makes acrylic painting (on the ancient words and Kuuga logo) extremely difficult and ugly... anyway, have ordered another Arcle Belt to redo the side buckles, hopefully this time will turn out better... 

 

Phase 2 will be the adding of the various colour lights to shine through the main window cover for Kuuga's various forms... May take some time as I had not yet bought the LEDs and such, and also mainly because still working on the DX-turn-CSM Faiz Gear...  

Bootleg " XD " ( DX ) Geiz Majesty Ridewatch ( Kamen Rider Zi-O / Zi O / Zio Series ) Knockoff KO

 It really is labelled as "XD" on its packaging, hahahahaha.... Cost SGD 28.35, it is way cheaper than the authentic DX, which is stupidly expensive... 

This has the same critical flaw of the bootleg Grand Zi-O Ridewatch that makes this not really compatible/interactive with the DX Ziku Driver - the side activation button lacks the double press feature to activate the henshin sound from the pre-henshin sound. This is critical as the DX Ziku Driver has the mechanism to push the side button TWICE in 1 rotation. A Bilibili video owner says he manage to overcome this by making the side button less sensitive to pressing. I tried to open up while fixing the stuck button but could not access to this switch as it's cover part has been glued tight... Anyway, I though maybe can just add another push switch (in parallel) to the side button and locate it somewhere where the belt wearer (my nephew) can conveniently press it to activate the henshin sound.
Yeap, have also ordered another one for myself as this is meant for my hephew.

Bootleg " XD " ( DX ) Grand Zi-O Ridewatch ( Kamen Rider Zi-O / Zi O / Zio Series ) Knockoff KO

 It really is labelled as "XD" on its packaging, hahahahaha....

Collected this and the Geiz Majesty ridewatch (both bootlegs) this morning. Cost SGD 28.35, it is way cheaper than the authentic DX, which is extremely difficult to purchase one in Singapore physical store nowadays...

Unboxing 50th Anniversary Legend Henshin Belt Series : Henshin Belt Arcle ( Kamen Rider Kuuga )

 

Cost SGD 45.45... very expensive for a Legend Rider Henshin Belt... but it is mainly due to the big packaging... Missed out on the previous Legend Rider Arcle Belt, but am glad Bandai finally released this. In Taobao.com, the sellers are even starting to take pre-orders for the Legend Faiz Driver and Legend Fourze Driver, hopefully it is true. As with the new Legend Henshin Typhoon Belt in this line, this belt also has only has red colour LEDs. Will recolour the front and side pieces to more show accurate.

 

Also will try to fix the third party CSM belt straps in to make it more wearable by my fat waist... 

 

Unboxing 50th Anniversary Legend Henshin Belt Series : Henshin Belt Typhoon ( Kamen Rider Ichigou )

Nice nostalgic motorcycle revving sound when switching the belt on. Cost SGD 45.42... very expensive for a Legend Rider Henshin Belt... but it is mainly due to the big packaging... Anyway, this 2021 version has a very compact activation slider compared to its predecessor released a few years ago having a large press lever, and hence the belt does not look very awkward compared to the previous one. The new belt's spinning mechanism has the centre piece spinning for the entire period of henshin sound played, which the older version is unable to do. However, the LEDs are in a single red colour, unlike the older version which has red, green and yellow. Light patterns formed seemed to be different too. Belt straps used are DX sized, so probably DX extension belts are compatible with this belt. I will be re-belting it on a larger belt strap with some belt-straps joining here and there, as I could not find a proper sized belt strap. And also very tempted to remake my previous one into the older white belt strap version... Will see how...

 

Side plates are separate pieces from the main front piece (older version has them pinned to the front pieces).

A set of Lego figurines from the older Kamen Rider series, consisting of 3 Shocker soldiers with different facial expressions, Kamen Rider Ichigo , Kamen Rider Nigo , Kamen Rider V3 , and Kamen Rider 1 ( from the Kamen Rider The First movie ), bought from Taobao through agent. Quite cheap at SGD10.70 for all 7 figurines including shipping. Quality is not that good though, with some parts overly loose and vice versa. However, these make very good display items !!! Nice...

 

( 3rd Party ) Kamen Rider Complete Modification Selection Belt Strap A.I.M.S. Shotriser / Forceriser

 Bought in Taobao and costs about SGD12 +, which is quite reasonable to me, as someone who is not very willing to spend too much money on CSM belts, or there is not yet a CSM belt/driver produce by Bandai yet. The exterior of the belt strap is painted, so a bit worried that there may be paint chipping after some time, hopefully not, as I think I will be displaying it up the rack shelf soon... The PVC straps are still a bit too short for a fat person like me, but still wearable... or perhaps I should lose some weight and inches already... Am awaiting for the other belt straps to arrive...

 

( Third Party ) Ultraman Taro Transformation Henshin Device : ULTRA BADGE

 Bought in Taobao for about SGD10 +, and this is a 3rd party item.  The maker seemed to have copied the main body of the Ultra Badge from the Ultra Brothers Henshin Items Set, and make some changes in aesthetics and also to accommodate the sound circuit. Short press of button will play the Ultraman Taro henshin sound, while long press will play half of the Ultraman Taro show song, stopping just before the chorus. Very tempted to transfer the sound circuit to the henshin set's version...

 

Bootleg Knockoff KO Ultraman Ultraseven Ultra Eye Version A , C

 Version A has smaller and more rectangular viewing lens, while Version C has a wider and more rounded viewing lens. Finally completed the series of the 3 versions of original Ultra Eye. It seemed that the original series is also not Bandai's, but from a third party company. As with the version B, these 2's plastic quality does not seem that good, so please do not give to children to play... Have also ordered the 3rd Party Ultraman Taro's transforming device that comes with sounds...

 

Bootleg Knockoff KO Ultraman Ultraseven X Ultra Eye

 Adding this to my collection of Ultra Eyes series... Even the box is a direct bootleg copy... Am thinking of keeping it in the box to display together with the box, but does not seem to look nice... Again, the plastic quality does not seem to be good enough for children to play... Looks good as display though... Now waiting for the Taro's transformation device with sounds... 

Bootleg Knockoff KO Ultraman Ultraseven Ultra Eye Version B

 Very cheap, just a few dollars to be able to get a mold of the Ultra Eye at a decent size. This is supposedly the Version B, with 2 star-holes in the middle of the lens. It comes in a plastic bag together with the printed cardboard, which is supposed to be a hand-signed autograph from the actual Ultraseven actor or something...Plastic quality does not seem that good, so please do not give to children to play... Have since ordered the Versions A and C, as my current ones are the smaller ( candy toy ) sized version... 

Knockoff KO Bootleg Black Spark Lens ブラックスパークレンス Ultraman Dark Tiga

 There seemed to be a few versions of this type of bootleg or KOs that recently appeared in Taobao a few months ago.  I got the non-flashing light with sound version. Surprisingly, mine came with the handle rims painted black. In fact the raw plastic used is white colour, but painted black... Also, the stripes on the top parts are not well-painted... Luckily the sounds and light are ok. I will probably paint it to be more show accurate next time when free... Comparison used in video is the 闪耀迪迦特别套装 Glitter Tiga Special Set Ultraman Tiga Spark Lens 2019 Reissue Bandai China, which is surprisingly smaller than this KO... I thought of swapping the sound circuits of these 2, but because the KO has only 1 activation switch, the other Tiga sounds will be unused and wasted....

  Bought it, then realised I actually supposed to get a Victory Lancer... Because my Victory Lancer was damaged... sigh.. somehow my mind was not in a stable state these few weeks... anyway, hope I can get 1 DX Victory Lancer someday, if not then nevermind too...  Comparison used in video is the KO Ginga Spark with a DX Victory Lancer circuit implanted inside it...

 

DX Tregear Eye ( Ultraman Taiga Series )

 Bought it for the aesthetics purely. And the aesthetics is not that good either. Only 2 sounds - Opening of mask and transformation.

 

Bootleg KO Knockoff ( Slightly ) Oversized DX Genkai Maken Beliarok 幻界魔剣 ベリアロク( Ultraman Z )

 

A slightly oversized KO/bootleg version of the DX Genkai Maken Beliarok from Ultraman Z series.  This is bought from Taobao at a price of SGD19.38 including shipping.  As I don't have the original one, the differences I think are:
(1) Slightly longer blade body with slightly longer red colour detail
(2) Orange translucent parts instead of transparent
(3) Darker purple in colour for the rubbery blade
(4) No Bandai manufacturing information
(5) "X  O" replaced with " OFF   ON" at power switch.
(6) "Deathcium Claw" and "Deathcium Fang" finishers each has an extra beat of waiting sound when activating button is pressed.
(7) Very very slightly muffled sound
The rest of the physical toy and sounds (including activation sequence of pressing the switches) seem to be the same as the original one. Saves me the trouble of having to make a sound circuit.
