Silver Painting - DX Gaburevolver, DX Gaburicalibur

Was watching the Kyoryuger series, and keep seeing the close-ups of the Gaburicalibur... and wondered why it looked so much more aesthetically pleasing than the DX toy... and then realized it is the (metallic) SILVER surface the weapons have... No wonder... So looked up a few pictures of how other experts paint up their DX toys to look better... and got very inspired after seeing the pictures, as they really did a nice job painting it... So today I quickly removed all the light grey plastic parts, masked the required coloured parts, and spray-painted!!!!! Fortunately I still have a can of silver spray paint with a finish texture that is "non-smooth". And this texture is almost identical to that of the silver paint Bandai has painted on the toys...

Work in progress.... Actually not much parts need to paint...

Notice the difference in unpainted (grey) parts to the painted parts... Looks so much nicer with the silver paint... But in the show, I remember the silver to be a bit more of ...eh... darker and "smoother"... something like what raw metallic look... but since Bandai already painted with the "non-smooth" type of silver paint, then I thought it might be better if continue with the same/similar type...

Done!!! Was a bit difficult to dismantle and assemble the Gaburicalibur, but luckily all parts and such are not missing... Happy... Only worry now is the paint might peel off... I did not apply a layer of lacquer as I want to keep the matte texture of the paint sprayed...

Close up view of the Gaburevolver....

Even painted some parts to black (I think they supposed to be black in colour in the first place, but somehow unpainted by Bandai... I think...).. For example, the dinosaur's nostrils... hahahaha....

Gaburicalibur close-up view of the painted parts... Seriously, I still feel this is what Bandai should have done in the first place...

Because of the thin layer of paint, the mold details / words are still legible and be seen clearly...

Gaburicannon!!!!!!! Hahahaha....

March Purchase (3) - DX Morphin Blaster, DX Bat Shot Memory Gadget, DX Spider Shock Memory Gadget, DX Trigger Magnum, LINE Character White Rabbit, Freebies

Haul from Japanese Collectibles Fair at Takashimaya today (see previous post for a brief video tour of the fair... The prices are not really low, so still waiting for the next Craziest sales and also the Sheng Tai toys sales... Prices are shown on the pictures themselves... The fair should end on 25th March...

DX Morphin Blaster
Have been waiting to get this... Only left 2 pieces on the shelf, and I pick up 1... Later went down to pick up the other (and last) one, to give as a present for my little nephew... Price is still a bit too high though...

DX Bat Shot Memory Gadget
These few pieces of KR W's gadgets, in general, are in slightly to moderate lousy conditions... some has clear tape over the original ones, so not sure if they have been tampered before... The toys themselves seemed un-opened before, judging by the plastic folds and creases are still crisp... But BEWARE: the gaia memories are NOT Japanese version....

DX Spider Shock Memory Gadget
"Spider!!!!"... wait, not "Spid-a-r"??? Oh well, they are Korean gaia memories... Don't believe me? Check out the 3rd picture below....

DX Trigger Magnum
Bought this NOT at the fair bbut on the 4th level toy area... Yes, its low price is what drives my impulse to buy... And then to realised the side clear tape was already broken... Sigh... Anyway, the toy itself seemed to be un-opened... Yes, I am that weird and hygiene freak... hahahaha....

LINE Character White Rabbit
Also gotten this cute little rabbit for my little niece... There is a slightly smaller one, but it has a long body, and so not as cute as this one (with a shorter body)....

Freebies: One Piece AR Carddass
Maybe I will download the app to play this....

March Purchase (2) - DX Double Vector

Nice haul from eBay! Bought this DX Double Vector (Timeranger) at a very very low price of USD27.50 (SGD36.02).... Nice, considering it to be a semi-"antique" Sentai toy... hahaha.... ok, year 2000 is not that far, just 14 years ago... Anyway, was glad that my earlier attempt to buy a bootleg of this item in Taobao.com did not succeed, else I will have missed out on this good deal...

Front of the box... Very different feel from the modern time Sentai toy packaging, not sure why, but just have this feeling... Checked both sides and found the clear tape to be intact... highly likely to be a MISB!!! ...

Reverse of the box shows the instructions on how to play, as well as some graphics... Toy is not difficult to play, but for starting, the instructions are quite useful... and there are no instruction sheet inside the box, only this "back" side...

De-tombed!!!!! Nice.... Electronics work well, and the plastic looks sturdy.... Still feel very lucky for the earlier unsuccessful Taobao.com deal, if not I will lose out on this funny and fun sound/light features....  Hahahaha.... Swords are a bit short, no surprise, and the rotating of the 2 jointed swords are tight but still ok, no feeling of breaking... Overall, good toy!!! Hahaha...

March Purchase (1) - DX Mirage Magnum, DX Gaburevolver Gaburicaliber Set

Haul from Taobao.com arrived yesterday...

DX Mirage Magnum
Bought this due to the seemingly low price in Taobao.com... But ultimately the price is jacked up due to the agent did not re-pack this, leaving the flap unbend in the box, and hence increase the volumetric weight by a lot... Cost approximately $34.35... Since it is the Bandai Japan version and NOT Bandai-Asia version, I will overlook its price... Hahaha... The actual magnum is quite small... Especially when I picked it up and compared it to the DX Gaburivolver, it dwarfs significantly... But the design still looks good... Have not tried out the toys' sounds and lights yet, will do that later....
Edit: Lights and sounds work ok! But the "lion-appear" effect is not as good as what I had expected... Ok, cannot 'hiam' too much!!

DX Gaburevolver Gaburicaliber Set
Bought this due to the extremely low price in Taobao.com... Hahaha... Cannot resist nor wait till the warehouse toys sale... Cost approximately $85.40... Very heavy pieces of toys!!!!! It makes a very good muscle training kit for the kids to exercise with, hahahaha.... Quit huge too, especially when combined... This is also the Bandai Japan version... Have not tried out the toys' sounds and lights as well, will do that later....
Edit: Lights and sounds work ok!
