August Purchase (2) - Woodelix Rider Machine - Cyclone

Gotten this in Changi City Point for $3... at a (pathetic) Toys and Gifts Bazaar at the basement... Not sure if it is the last day, the assortment and quantity of the toys there are not good... Especially the Gashapons, which are back with the $10 per bag again. However, there is only 1 (loose) layer of capsules lying on the 2 "tables". A few bigger capsules are the Astro-switches. When I ask the staff whether they intend to replenish (bags and boxes are visible under 1 of the "tables"), the male staff reply he don't know, and upon some questioning, finally he push the responsibility of replenishing to the "supplier" or something like that... sigh... Anyway, bought this for my display and some other few stuff for my little nephew and niece...

Very small, but I think it is a good display piece. Might go and print out some stickers if got time next time...

Arrrrrggggggghhhhh.... Should I get the bootleg Sengoku Driver, or a real one for probably 2x++ the cost of the bootleg??? Should I waste time and get lower performance level with the restoring of the bootleg, or should I exchange the time back with money (by buying the real one)??? Can't decide... hahahahaha.... Maybe don't buy is best, save money, hahahahaha....

Update: Bootleg Gokai Weapons - Major Sounds Restoration

Actually finished the gun quite a long time ago, but did not want to post until all Gokai weapons mods are completed... What I did was quite simple: Remove the ridiculous sound circuit, add in 2 new ones - 1 from an toy revolver gun, the other is a sound recording circuit which I record the "Final Wave" sounds. Then micro-switches are hot-glued to suitable places for activating the sounds... I might be adding an on-off switch just to save on battery life...

The bootleg Gokai Saber restoration is similar. However, the bootleggers are lazy and used the same Gokaikey-cylinder from the bootleg Gokai Gun, so the top part protruding part must be cut off...

The LED on the new sound recording chip for "Final Wave" is also replaced with a running multi-colour LED... And done!!!

Here's a picture of the bootleg Gokai weapons... Nice... but wait... I gotten a legit version of the Gokai Saber, so my original intention of fitting in the new blade into the bootleg version will now switch to fitting it into the legit version... yes...

Chisel... Chisel??!!!! (... Hmmm... not funny.... Anyway...) For the new Gokai Saber blade, Akuna Prime used a 2mm (I think) ABS sheet to make the base of the new blade. Difficult to form out the curve due to the blade-holder part is TOO curved... So if I have to follow the curve, then the blade's curve will be too much... sigh... Should have not follow the holder's curve... Anyway, the new blade will be around twice the size of the old one; not too long so as not to spoil the proportion of the blade to the other parts of the saber.... And some trimming to the blade's shape was done along the way of making....

Next, I use 0.5mm (I think) to do the rims, on both sides of the blade, joining using double-sided tape... Looks good when testing...

Have to drill the holes to fit into the pegs of the blade-holder...

Then all is left is the spraying... arrgghh...... Spraying is simple but because of my impatience, I mess up the whole thing... Then paint ran out.. have to hunt around my neighbourhood to find the roughen-surface silver spray paint... Anyway, this is the best I can do... The inner part is sprayed with roughen-surface silver, and the rims are sprayed with chrome-silver, which I did not spray thick enough in the last round of spraying... The picture shows the blade supporters pieces which strips of the 2mm ABS are cut and pasted on the edges... In this case, this is used to hold the blade roughly in the middle without moving left-right too much, as the new blade is too thin...

Really, this looks so much better than the "hopeless" (as said by a certain customizer) original Gokai Saber with the short blade...NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha.....

A closer look at the new blade replacement... The electronics and mechanical features are still intact with this new blade replacement...

Seriously, the original Gokai Saber size is too small... even for a child... This is so much better.....

...And this will be my set of Gokai weapons to display!!! Hahaha...

The bootleg version comes with a unique Gokaikey, the Gokai-Grey key!!!! Actually the key itself is the Gokai-Yellow's code... I swap the body of one of the Gokai-Grey keys with my little nephew's extra Gokai-Red key... Since the bootleg Gokai weapons cannot use original Gokaikeys, I have to use both bootleg keys to activate my Gokai weapons... Yeap, the original keys are thicker, and the bootleg weapons have slightly thinner key-holes....

Till next time!!!
