DX Shining Hopper Progrise Key シャイニングホッパープログライズキー

Very interesting design - futuristic energy-ish lines when progrise key is closed, and the lines become part of the grasshopper when progrise key is opened. And same as the DX Assault Wolf progrise key, this is like 2 progrise keys in 1, with the 2 sets of sound effects when the DX Assault Grip is attached. Am thinking of getting a gashapon (capsule toy) Shining Hopper progrise key (when it is available) to implant the sound chip so as to have the DX A.I.M.S. Shotriser to also play its 'Zero-One Driver' henshin sounds. Wishing all a Happy New Year!

Minor Paint : Assault Grip - DX Assault Wolf Progrise Key ( Kamen Rider Zero One Vulcan )

Spray painted the Assault Grip from the DX Assault Wolf Progrise Key set with a (supposedly "silver chrome") spray paint. Effect is not really what I wanted, as the shine is not there. I did not spray thick enough, as I am afraid the texture details will be covered up and not be sharp if I spray too thick, which it has to be slightly thick to achieve the "shiny" look. But looks ok from far and when ambience is not so bright.

Operation Restoration : Bootleg KO DX Saikyo Girade 時冠王剣サイキョーギレード ( Kamen Rider Zi-O Zio ) ~ 50%

Actually finished restoring the bootleg Saikyo Girade Face quite some time ago, but somehow did not have the momentum to continue on the main weapon. Yesterday finally completed it. A lot of unexpected obstacles happen, e.g. wanted to use a commercial sword-sound chip together with the sound recording chip but failed, despite changing the different activation ways (i.e. solder, re-solder, solder, re-solder,... ), speaker failure during testing, etc etc etc... In the end still manage to finish this morning but could only have these few (but major) sounds - "Zi-O saikyo!" , Haou Giri (覇王斬り) and King Giri Giri Slash (キングギリギリスラッシュ) effects. Overall is ok, as this bootleg can have the 2 types of finishing attack sounds from the Saikyo Girade and Jikan Girade simultaneously, which may be tough/not possible by the real deal...

DX Assault Wolf Progrise Key ( Kamen Rider Zero-One Vulcan )

Bought it at SGD38... It cost slightly less than twice of the normal Progrise Keys, and is also slightly more than twice that play-ability/sounds (sounds of 2 'different' Progrise Keys, plus the Assault Grip attach-detach gimmick) of the normal Progrise Key too. I only demonstrated it on the DX A.I.M.S Shotriser but it has also lots of sounds when using with the DX Zero-One Driver. The Assault Grip can be attached to the DX Shining Hoper Progrise Key. The shining surface makes the Progrise Key looks very nice. There is also a set which includes the DX Assault Wolf, DX Shining Hopper and of course the Assault Grip, which I did not buy as I had earlier ordered the DX Shining Hopper from Taobao.

Ultraman R/B RB Rube : DX R/B Gyro and Modification into Ultraman Tiga Crystal ( Wind Form )

Bought the DX R/B Gyro (SGD 30) and some DX Crystal sets (SGD 5 each) recently. The DX R/B Gyro comes with the default Fire (Ultraman Taro) and Water (Ultraman Ginga) Crystals, and the set 03 has the Ground (Ultraman Victory) Crystal. So the last of the 4 basic form Wind (Ultraman Tiga) is missing, and it is packaged with the DX Crystal Holder. Not wanting to buy a holder just for the Crystal, I decided to modify 1 of the Crystals into a Wind (Ultraman Tiga) Crystal. I realised that 1 of the monster Crystal has the character 嵐, which is basically 2 characters 山 and 風, and 風 happens to be the character for the Wind (Ultraman Tiga) Crystal. This will save me time to print the sticker onto transparent papers to become stickers, as I can just paint the top part 山 black and it will become the 風 .

The pins will be just added on with some spare Tamiya pins' stems, or cut off the un-necessary ones.


Covering the top part 山 with black paint pen of the character 嵐 and it will become the 風...



Printed out the main Ultraman Tiga sticker on glossy photo paper, and used double-sided tape to mount on the (inner of the) Crystal. Done.


Works quite well.

Modification - Ultra 6 Brothers Capsule ( Ultraman Geed Series )

Happen to chance upon the fact that Ultraman Geed's King Sword can also read a Ultra 6 Brothers Capsule a few days ago. Hence, used an old simplified KO Fusion Capsule to make into it. The KO capsule is very simplified, e.g. no pins at the bottom, no sliding up mechanism as it is re-molded to be a LED light up toy, etc. Added the 2 pins with some old Tamiya pins' stem and printed out the 6 Ultra-brothers sticker to paste over the original sticker. Works.

Haul from Santa's Warehouse Sale

Haul from Santa's Warehouse Sale a few days ago. This sale at Bishan CC has ended but there will be another run at Jurong Logistics Hub, from 19 to 22 Dec, timing please ask Google... I left the place $150 poorer but happier...
