(Incomplete) Diend K-Touch Mod

Suddenly remember I have not open up the DX K-Touch yet to see what kind of LEDs I need to replace with... so was quite glad that they are actually flat LEDs, as I have already bought a row of blue ones for fun earlier... but bought the 3mm one so a bit small... Luckily still able to solder, though quite tough... Since already open the DX K-Touch, might as well replace the red LEDs with blue lEDs then...

Did not dare to touch the LCD cable, so got to flip over the circuit board and do the soldering as shown in the picture below... It is a little difficult to remove the surface-mount LEDs, and took a long time... Oh, do note the LEDs' cathodes of each column are connected, so you will have to solder all 3 blue LEDs in 1 column to make the blue LEDs light up...

1/3 done!!!! Happy.... Initially I just remove 1 red LED and solder in 1 blue LED but it did not work, and I was so disappointed. Then later, I manage to figure out that all the 3 blue LEDs need to be soldered in each column in order to light up (probably due to the different voltage rating of red and blue LEDs...)...

Finally done!!!! Very very happy! Now only left to repaint the pink to blue, and maybe add a sound chip to say "Diend" instead of "Decade", maybe make a gekijouban riders card as in the movie version, maybe add a sound chip to read the names of the gekijouban riders... maybe...
