Repainting : Legend Hero DX Dragon Blade 群英传奇 梦想三国 传奇英雄 ( 强化 ) 灵龙刀

 The yellow plastic looks too "plasticky", and hence thought a good golden/bronze spray will make the toy look better and more show accurate...  Missed out the rims and areas at the transparent window display as it houses the circuit and did not brought it together with the other parts to spray. Make do with gold paint pen in the end.

Legend Hero DX Dragon Blade 群英传奇 梦想三国 传奇英雄 强化 灵龙刀 黄金版

Legend Hero ( 传奇英雄 梦想三国 ) is a Korean tokusatsu series which combines Kamen Rider-ish character design and Super Sentai's 'Megazords'.  It was dubbed in Chinese for China market but seemed to stop after 16 episodes, not sure why. It was also dubbed in Indonesia language and aired in Indonesia. Have at least seen this toy with 3 languages (Korean, Chinese, Indonesian language).  It is a pretty large DX weapon toy, much larger than most Kamen and Sentai DX ones. Will upload comparison video separately. Technically speaking, this is probably the (China version) re-issue of the DX version, with silver chrome on the blade instead of just silver paint. Am very tempted to dismantle and pain the yellow to gold/bronze to match the show prop.

 

DX Ixa Calibur イクサカリバー Blade Extension Modification 改造 Kamen Rider Kiva 仮面ライダーキバ Series

Yes, the title is just rubbish and for fun... This was modified long time ago, see previous post of modification of DX Ixa Calibur in 2012 for some pictures on the modding... In commemoration of the upcoming release of CSM Ixa Driver and Ixa Riser... and Bandai Premium seem to miss this weapon out... not sure why...

DX Complete Henshin Assault Wolf Progrise Key - Kitbash w/ GP ( Kamen Rider Zero One KR Vulcan )

It seems that the DX Shotriser is shortchanging the DX Progrise Keys as it cannot play the full Henshin sound. Hence I implanted the GP ( gashapon ) Assault Wolf Progrise Key circuit board into the DX version. But in order to still allow the Shotriser to perform the final attack function, I had to resort to use various switches to "cheat" and achieve this function. In the end, took 2 days as there was some swapping of switches after the initial modification. Not sure if still have the strength and will left to continue with the DX Shining Assault Hopper and DX Shooting Wolf Progrise Keys... hopefully will...

The insides of the Progrise Keys (GP version on the right)....


Start to trim GP circuit board... and realized more needs to be trimmed...


Decided to place the GP circuit board here... no other good places anyway...


Need to break / destroy the GP sound activation switch as it is a SMD and soldered on 4 points...


I wanted to activate the GP sounds manually and also when the DX Shotriser trigger is pressed, hence I added 2 switches (in parallel) to it...


Made a plunger from ABS sheet to activate the GP switch with DX Shotriser trigger...


Initial placed the Sound Select switch at bottom of Progrise Key, but realized that it was too hidden in the DX Shotriser to press when the Progrise Key is inserted in... Hence need to swap position with the GP sound activation switch on top of Progrise Key...


Final configuration... this swapping took 1 full day... tired...

Kitbash : DX Zero Proto Driver ( Prototype Stage ) Kamen Rider Zero One 01 Homemade Henshin Belt

Bashed this from the DX Progrise Key Connector (no Progrise Key version). Intend to give to my little niece for a early school holiday present, but not sure if she will want to have it. Hence I did not put in the driver's sounds yet, meaning this Driver is still incomplete.

DX Rampage Gatling Progrise Key ( KR Zero One 01 - Kamen Rider Vulcan : Rampage Vulcan Form )

Homage to Wotafa for his always energetic and enthusiasm in his toys review... Bought from Taobao... Surprisingly, the spinning gimmick is already quite loose, looser than the one seen in Youtube clips... However, I still decide to make it more free-spinning... Tried adding some lubricant oil from Daiso, but the oil tends to leak and spread, making the toy oily, hence decide to only change the spring to a weaker one. Works in the end. Also added a spring to the cover-flip mechanism to make it less prone to flip out when swing hard. More pictures are in blog.

Added another spring to make the cover-flip tighter...



Replaced the spinning clicking mechanism spring to a softer (less strong) one...

Kamen Rider Zero One - Gashapon GP Amazing Caucasus Progrise Key ( Metallic Version )

When I first ordered this, the seller sent me a Berotha Magia Progrise Key, which I did not return as I quite like that Progrise Key. When I received this 2nd time order, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a Metallic version! Quite glad I ordered the 2nd time...

Modification : from Bootleg to " Legend Ultra Henshin Series " Taiga Spark 偽レジェンドウルトラ変身シリーズ タイガスパーク

Bandai recently released toys in a Legend Ultra Henshin Series line, which are sort of DX casings with reduced / modified functions. This bootleg seem to belong to this line. I shifted the position of the reed switch from inside the casing to the palm strap. The original reed switch was broken during the operation, and I had to order new ones from Taobao, which only arrive recently due to the COVID-19 situation. Big salute to all front-line medical staff and all people who are continuing giving all out in this difficult times, BIG THANK YOU.

DX Attache Arrow - Modification : Zero One Driver Henshin Sound Compatibility ( Kamen Rider )

Was not contented with the shortened henshin sounds made by the DX A.I.M.S. Shotriser when interacting with the DX Progrise Keys. Suddenly thought of a previous similar case where I used a ( Kamen Rider Ex-Aid ) Gashat slot from an unwanted DX Gashacon Sparrow to modify into a Kimewaza Slot, and thus experimented with my DX Attache Arrow. After a few tries, found a very simple way to do that, using just a few diameter 6mm - thickness 1mm/3mm round magnets.



The magnets can activate the "Authorize" and "Over-rise" sounds of the DX Progrise Keys which can then allow the longer henshin sound of the DX Progrise key to be played.

Quick Modification

Can also do a more permanent modification by hot-gluing the magnets in. Can even sort of activate the finishing move sound. Original playing functions of the DX Progrise Keys interacting with the DX Attache Arrow is not affected, as long as you don't press the little top button at the DX Progrise Key before inserting it into the slot.

Bootleg DX Taiga Spark タイガスパーク - Ultraman Taiga series

Costs SGD17.11... There are a lot of variants of the bootleg DX Taiga Spark in Taobao, do be careful which one you are getting... if you are getting, that is... else, please get the authentic one, has tons of sounds more than this... but for me, this is good enough... Will be modifying the reed switch to be a the palm strap's center for more show-accurate transforming...

Costs SGD7.20 ... A bit expensive, considering still have to restore/touch-up the holding mechanism which held the authentic R/B crystals too loose... But hope it will make the crystals look good to display...
